Mental Health and Business Branding: The Entrepreneurship Program at Hope for Community Development

Updated: Dec 15, 2022

On June 11th, 2022, an in-person entrepreneurship Program workshop was held as members of the Waterloo region joined us. Hope for Community Development is committed to empowering leaders and educating aspiring entrepreneurs in the Kitchener-Waterloo community to strengthen community members in building their own businesses.

During the session, Mental Health issues Entrepreneurs face were discussed in the first half of the workshop. Mental wellbeing is just as important as physical wellbeing, and you need to maintain both in order to fit and healthy.

We are encouraged by the commitment and dedication of the participants who are investing their time and energy in their personal and professional development and we're proud of our investment in the building of stronger community business owners, and to be able to mobilize our participants for better outcomes.

The second half of the workshop focused on business branding. Branding Strategy helps you clearly identify your brand- what it embodies, offers, and looks like and it helps establish a unique brand voice, personality, and brand identity which helps you to reach your specific, target audience in meaningful ways!

Participants in this workshop were taught how to:

  • Identify their mission and center their brand around it

  • Clearly define their target audience and strategize how to each them in meaningful ways

  • Build the heart of the brand and share why it exists

  • Curate their offerings so they always feel meaningful and intentional to their audience

  • Choose a unique brand name and a great domain address that is easy to find online

  • Identify key platforms for social media and secure consistent account handles

  • Best practices agencies use to position businesses for individuality and success
