Civic Hub Waterloo Region

The Civic Hub Waterloo Region is a collaborative and inclusive space where grassroots is anchored, where faces go with names and where energy and ideas are activated.  Civic Hub brings together grassroots groups and makes small nonprofits active in a range of fields: environmental justice, democratic reform, arts and culture, anti-poverty, anti-racism, human rights, ethnocultural and newcomer support, technology, peace and nonviolence, spirituality and wellbeing. The Community Company

The Community Company work is focused on supporting local grassroots, NGO’s and charitable organizations that aligned with their values in creating autonomous and sustainable income streams for themselves through social enterprise creation, product offerings and networking connections. One of their social enterprises is called The Better Food Co, which was developed with Hope House to help create a better food system in Guelph. They also love working with local creators to develop community projects, some of which you can learn more about here

Association of Liberian Immigrants in Kitchener Environs (ALIKE)

ALIKE was founded in 2005 to unite Liberians in the Kitchener Waterloo Region. With a particular focus on the preservation and celebration of our national heritage, ALIKE empowers youth of Liberian descent while contributing meaningfully to economic and social development in the Kitchener-Waterloo community.

The association has expanded its focus on community engagement through supporting Black and visible minority youth as well as women empowerment to promote leadership excellence.

Ray of Hope

Ray of Hope provides vital services to people in need in Waterloo Region. They demonstrate the love of Christ by Investing in People, Inspiring Hope and Transforming Life. Jesus Christ is at the centre of everything we do to invest in people, inspire hope, and transform lives. They provide four areas of service: Community Support, Youth Justice, Employment Services, and Youth Addiction. Hope for Community Development is glad to share in their mission to invest in people in the community.

Engage and Change 

Engage and Change is a charity that was created to foster good citizenship and encourage healthy communities by giving back. Engage and Change gives people and companies the opportunities to do hands on group volunteer projects that assemble and build kits to assist in the alleviation of poverty. These kits are then distributed to the local communities through frontline social service agencies and homeless shelters directly to those in need. Its mission is to assist those in need in their communities by promoting, identifying, and developing partnerships between individuals, for-profit, and not-for-profit organizations. Hope for Community Development will continue to be a part of Engage and Change initiatives.
