Education and Outreach

The Education and Outreach Department at Hope for Community Development advances education and support for newcomer, BIPOC youth and families with tutorials, workshops, mentorship, and other educational activities designed to empower participants with knowledge, skills, and confidence. By bridging gaps in education, we guide grade 1 to 12 students and their families through the education system. Our team of educators and volunteers works tirelessly to provide personalized support and resources tailored to each student's unique needs. Additionally, we collaborate with local schools, community organizations, and other stakeholders to create a network of support that amplifies our impact. Our goal is not only to help students succeed in school but also to inspire lifelong learning and community engagement.

Afterschool Homework Club

Hope for Community Development’s After School Homework Club assists newcomer and BIPOC youth from grades 1 to 12 and their families through our tutorials. We offer one-on-one and group sessions to help students improve their understanding of various subjects, enhance their academic performance, and build confidence in their abilities. Our workshops cover a wide range of topics, including study skills, time management, college preparation, and career exploration, ensuring that students are well-equipped to navigate their educational journey.

Academic Peer-to-Peer Mentorship

Mentorship is a core component of our program, where experienced mentors provide guidance, encouragement, and practical advice to students. These mentors serve as role models, helping students set goals, overcome challenges, and make informed decisions about their future.

By fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment, we empower newcomer and BIPOC youth and families to thrive academically and personally.
