Co-operators Supports Our Advanced Entrepreneurship Program with $24000 Community Fund Contribution

With this contribution, through the Co-operators Community Funds, Hope for Community Development will create a youth-led Social Enterprise which will provide jobs/skills training, as well as a pathway to employment for our community’s marginalized youth. Hope for Community Development will also work with youth leaders to research, brand and launch a social enterprise that will create employment opportunities for the youth, while simultaneously providing a hands-on advanced entrepreneurial program.

The Advanced Entrepreneurship Program will provide Black and Newcomers in the Kitchener-Waterloo area with mentorship, entrepreneurial training and networking opportunities to help them succeed in their chosen business path.

The enterprise will also encourage resilience in youth as leaders in their community, employ future generations of youth through the enterprise, and modernize Hope for Community Development’s youth engagement strategy.

Hope for Community Development will be partnering with The Community Company in the development of the Social Enterprise.

This investment will support the creation of 12 new jobs and 50 Black youth entrepreneurs and reinforces the Co-operators' commitment to eliminating barriers to success and revelling the positive economic impacts of Black youth entrepreneurs in the Waterloo region and Canada at large.
